Fire in the Youth

The vision of Fire in the Youth is to provide young people the tools to enable them to make positive life choices throughout their life journey. Fire in the Youth does this by delivering a message of personal development through lyricism – poetry through music whilst introducing young people to the arts.

Learn.Compete.Collaborate.Perform

Inspired by The Rap Game UK – COV works with up and coming Coventry artists aged 16-24years taking part in a short, competitive programme, providing an opportunity to take over the scene and gain access to studio time, video production and their very own live performances city wide including Godiva Festival!

Artists are invited to put their talents to the test by taking part in a range of tasks, testing their musical ability to adapt, inspire, be seen and heard.

G3NNA was crowned our 2022 Fire in the Youth champ, where he has gone on to release two singles Trident & Misfits in the Summer of 2022.

In 2023 Eyes was crowned champ and gone on to release his first single Loyalty over love.

Open Jams

Our Fire in the Youth Open Jams is an opportunity for Coventry artists to showcase their talent and raise their profile.

We have more…

Thanks to our funders Youth Music and partners Coventry Music, we have extended the arm of Fire in the Youth to deliver more music sessions.

This year, young people at COV Youth have enjoyed a range of musical workshops including learning how to play drums and DJ.

Our Female DJ workshops has invited resident DJ Kizzi from BBC Asian Network to support our young women and girls get a taste for the industry and experience delivering a live set at Godiva Festival this year.

Just watch this space, these girls are on fire!
